Open Innovation is about exactly this: allow you to benefit from the other 99% of knowledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I only wanted to share this simple infographics inspired by a presentation by Creax<\/a> . Their presentation includes nice representations of the Open Innovation benefits<\/a>, recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one simply tries to represent what an innovative company, no matter how big it is, may represent in the world’s global knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At best 1% of their own domain, or a drop of water. The company’s knowledge is mainly represented by its human resources (not in the HR sense but in the sense of all the company’s employees) and the data generated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it is unusual for a company to be alone in a market. Competitors also have their own knowledge. By adding all this knowledge together we obtain the knowledge of an entire industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Except that this industry is restricted to the companies that made it up. This knowledge is part of an even broader knowledge that is global knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A single company can therefore only process, at best, 1% of the knowledge it has internally. 99% of the information that is potentially useful to it cannot be used because the company is closed in on itself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Open Innovation, a company can access the 99% of knowledge it lacks! And with the right platform<\/a>, it is possible to sort information efficiently and quickly to be able to use it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several large companies have already taken the plunge<\/a>, since today they must be able to adapt quickly to survive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Open Innovation involves working with external actors. This inevitably raises legal issues and more specifically intellectual property issues.
